Father's Day

Image
On this day, children acknowledge and appreciate the roles played by their fathers and father figures who are an integral part of their lives. The day emphasises on the role of a father in their children’s lives and acknowledges the contribution of fathers to the society and their respective family. Father’s Day will be celebrated on 19 June this year. The day marks the exceptional and special bond that we share with our fathers, who is also a friend and mentor. The third Sunday of June is annually celebrated as Father’s Day. As we prepare to commemorate the occasion, here's all you need to know about its history and significance: Father's Day originated with American Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart's daughter Sonora, who lived in Spokane, Washington. Sonora's mother died while giving birth to her sixth child, following which Sonora and her father raised her elder brothers. When she was listening to a speech in a church on Mother's Day, which had just been...

“Philippine Independence, the most significant event in our country's history.”

Image
During the Spanish-American War, Filipino rebels led by Emilio Aguinaldo proclaim the independence of the Philippines after 300 years of Spanish rule. By mid-August, Filipino rebels and U.S. troops had ousted the Spanish, but Aguinaldo’s hopes for independence were dashed when the United States formally annexed the Philippines as part of its peace treaty with Spain. The Philippines, a large island archipelago situated off Southeast Asia, was colonized by the Spanish in the latter part of the 16th century. Opposition to Spanish rule began among Filipino priests, who resented Spanish domination of the Roman Catholic churches in the islands. In the late 19th century, Filipino intellectuals and the middle class began calling for independence. In 1892, the Katipunan, a secret revolutionary society, was formed in Manila, the Philippine capital on the island of Luzon. Membership grew dramatically, and in August 1896 the Spanish uncovered the Katipunan’s plans for rebellion, forcing prema...

Mother's Day Celebration

Image
A mother is both her children's first teacher and friend. She carries her child for nine months in her womb and nurtures her child with all her heart and soul. Since her children's birth, she has been able to decipher their every movement. She unconditionally loves her children and leads them down the right path in life. She looks after her children and makes sure they are safe in every way. We celebrate Mother's Day to express our love and gratitude to our mothers. When a child returns home, the first person he or she looks for is his or her mother. She looks after her children from the time they are born until she dies. We can't even begin to count their numerous contributions to our lives or everything they do from morning to night. Even when they are tired, mothers continue to perform all of their duties and responsibilities throughout the day. They never expect anything in return for all the love and pampering they lavish on us. However, we can express our gratitud...

Binatbatan Festival of the Arts: A tapestry of culture and arts woven by a miracle

Image
A tapestry of culture and arts woven by a miracle that saved the residents in 1882    Return to the origins of the event and learn about the miracle that saved the residents in December 1882. According to Damaso King, a well-known Vigan historian, the Viva Vigan Binatbatan Festival of the Arts, which takes place from the final week of April to the first week of May, was originally the Feast of the Natives, which began on May 3, 1883. The event began in 1882, when an illness killed 934 residents in a month. The outbreak began on November 12 and terminated on December 15. This occurred 30 years after a chapel was built in Vigan's graveyard in 1852. The large number of deaths in such a short period disturbed the naturales, or indigenous people, and mestizos, or Spanish-speaking locals, who urged Dr. Evaristo Abaya, the parish priest, to request a visit to Vigan of the Santo Cristo Milagroso of Sinait town. The people celebrated the Santo Milagroso with a nine-day noven...

3rd Quarter, a reflection

Image
This quarter, we learnt about community-based research, its components, and how we might use it in our community. Learning community-based research is not tough because I am already familiar with the many types of research because we have a research subject that primarily focuses on writing research papers. I have no difficulty comprehending the issue, but I am having difficulty writing my research because I am not very good at writing essays. I solved this barrier by reading previous community-based research as my guide in creating my own. Moving forward, I will aim to strengthen my writing talents while also continuing to improve the skills that I am familiar with and enjoy. https://i.pinimg.com/736x/43/0f/57/430f5781d50d760554134092443ad3e0.jpg

Some nations have granted mRNA vaccines for teenage usage emergency use authorization (aged 12-17 years).       The largest disease burden in terms of severe disease and mortality continues to be among the elderly and those with comorbidities, as evidenced by the WHO Prioritization Roadmap, which defines high priority-use groups based on vaccination supply available to countries.
